  • LEDs are resistant to shock and vibration, and can operate effectively in extremely cold environments.
  • Stores with LED lighting sell 30% more merchandise.
  • The electricity used over the lifetime of a single incandescent bulb costs five to 10 times the original purchase price of the bulb itself.
  • The cost of new LED bulbs has been reduced substantially over the last few years and continues to go down.

Although you will realize substantial savings when you switch your building’s lighting to LEDs, many building owners and facility managers may be concerned about the initial cost. That’s why Con Edison is offering a wide range of rebates for installing LED lighting solutions.

Con Edison has a detailed list of prescriptive rebates for LED and high-efficiency lighting solutions. If the type of lighting you are changing isn’t on the list, you may still qualify for custom incentives under the Con Edison C&I Program, paid at a rate of $0.16/kWh saved per year. You may even qualify for a rebate for removing unneeded lighting.
